All Philips and our own brand conversion kits use the D2S. The way the optics are designed in a conversion kit there is no advantage to be gained by using a D2R. The opposite is true as the D2R gives out 200 lumen less light than a D2S. The issue of glare is covered by geometically correct optics with the same light centre length, focal point and horizontal plane as the halogen lamps that you are converting.
